You Wake Up in Your Room
(I'll be honest, I have no idea what this was suppose to be. I think I must've been in a really bad headspace when I wrote this seven years ago, because frankly I don't know what else could've inspired this bizarre, misguided attempt at what I assume was suppose to be existential horror. It's really not good, but I felt like subjecting the internet to it anyways, so enjoy I guess?)
You wake up in your room.
Something doesn't feel right, but you can't put your finger on what.
You look around your room; blue wallpaper, hardwood floors, piles of clothes. Seems about right.
You get up and throw some clothes on from the dresser by your bed.
As you get dressed you hear unusual sounds from outside.
Peaking out your window you come face to face with a t rex.
You try to shout, but you can't make a sound
You run to the opposite side of your house, huddle in a corner and close your eyes.
You wake up in a hospital bed.
A man you don't recognize is standing next to you, wearing a white lab coat over blue surgical scrubs.
"Ah, you're finally awake. I'm sure you'll be glad to hear that your operation was a complete success." the man says. You don't know what he's talking about.
You start looking around the room trying to remember what happened, but when you look back to the doctor to ask you notice he's vanished.
You get up from the hospital bed and aim for the door, but your legs are weak.
Your legs give out under your own weight, and you fall forward. Instead of hitting the floor you fall into the white ground and into an infinite void of white.
You wake up in your room.
Something doesn't feel right, but you can't put your finger on it.
You look around your room; blue-painted walls, wood-laminate floors, piles of clothes. Seems about right.
You get up, grab your bath towel and head for the bathroom to take a shower.
As you walk, you notice the hall to your bathroom feels longer than normal.
You look behind you; your bedroom door now looks to be miles away, looking ahead again you notice the hall has grown dark.
You turn around and attempt to run back to your room, but the more you run the darker the hall gets until eventually everything is black.
You wake up in your room.
You feel a wave of deja-vu as you rise from your bed, as if you've woken up like this before.
You check your wall clock; 9:73, you're late for school.
You quickly throw your backpack together and run out the door. It seems cold out for July.
When you finally arrive at school you're greeted to the sound of your entire class laughing. You forgot to put pants on before you left.
In your embarrasment you bury your face in your hands.
You wake up in the woods.
You're naked, and covered in blood.
You've been running, you don't remember why or why you stopped.
You hear snapping branches from deeper in the woods and continue running.
You run for an eternity, trying to escape the fate you know awaits you.
You run until you can't run anymore, not because you are tired but because an unknown force is holding you back.
You hear the sounds behind you getting louder, but you can't move.
You black out before the sounds reach you.
You wake up in your room.
The hairs on your neck are standing on end and you're doused in a cold sweat.
You know this isn't the first time you've woken up.
You remember dinosaurs, hospitals and forests, but can't piece together where you remember them from.
You look at the clock on your desk; Q:9G. That can't be right.
You stand up and write a note to yourself, reading "YOU ARE ASLEEP", and tape it to your clock.
You lay down in bed again and close your eyes.
You wake up in your room.
Every exposed surface in the room is covered in pieces of paper of all sizes and shapes.
Each piece of paper bears a single message written multiple times across the entire page; "YOU ARE AWAKE".
You stand up and grab a piece of paper from the wall; behind it a solid black, inhuman face looks up at you with solid red eyes.
You try to scream but can't make a sound. Blackness swallows the room.
You wake up in your room.
You are restrained to your bed, and the walls are lined with clocks.
Each clock begins to tick, the sound growing louder and faster until it drives you insane.
You wake up in a hotel room.
The blankets are so tight that you can't move.
You struggle in attempt to remove the covers, but doing so only makes them tighter.
The blankets cut off your air supply, and you black out.
You wake up in your room.
You cannot move for reasons you don't understand, and your eyes are locked looking straight upwards.
You start noticing dark figures moving in the corners of your eyes,
The figures begin to surround you, their grotesque forms becoming more obvious the closer they get.
Eventually all you can see is darkness.
You wake up in a hospital bed.
You immediately run out of the room and into a long corridor lined with doors.
You run for a milennia, until the corridor finally ends at a single door. There is a sheet of paper taped to it reading "YOU ARE ASLEEP".
You wake up in your room.
A sense of existential dread immediately washes over you.
The walls of the room begin to shrink, until you are crushed within them.
You wake up in the woods.
You hear noises all around you and yet you stay put, knowing that it's impossible to run.
You wake up in your room.
You fall out of bed and into an infinite void.
You wake up in your room.
The walls turn red hot, and you can feel yourself slowly roasting alive.
You wake up in a hotel room.
The face of death itself looks down on you.
You wake up in your room.
The room is soaked in blood, and the remains of your loved ones line the walls.
You wake up in your room.
You close your eyes before the nightmares can return.
You wake up in your room.
You wake up in a hospital bed.
You wake up in your room.
You wake up in the woods.
You wake up in your room.
You wake up in a hotel room.
You wake up in your room.
You wake up in your room.
You wake up in your room.
You wake up.
You retrieve the knife from under your pillow.
You do not wake up.
